How it works
OS VectorMap™ Local is a national vector dataset supplied in Geography Markup Language (GML). It has been derived from OS Landplan data and has been generalised to view between scales of 1:3000 to 1:20,000.
OS VectorMap Local is the first Ordnance Survey product that provides contextual data, enabling businesses to add their own bespoke content and display for backdrop mapping.
The features are supplied as points, lines, polygons and text, and the data has around 130 different types of feature code.
This product allows users to select and style different features in different ways which makes OS VectorMap Local such a versatile contextual mapping product. In fact, it can be styled in an almost infinite number of ways to best provide a geographic context to your information.
